“I work with repetition, I stay with subjects for extended periods of time, I take the same walks in close proximity to my home, I visit the same shores and woods. It’s like listening to a drone in ambient music. Everytime I see some slight variation of the same note, a new tree, a new branch or how waves hit the shore differently from other times. I find endless inspiration in nature as it reveals itself to me. I often hear people tell me I need to make a different picture, but they are all different to me, and I am different every time I take the picture, that is enough difference for me. The title of the project refers to the nature reserve where I take most of my pictures called Kullaberg “
About the author:
Alexander Jansson: “I’m from the south of Sweden and I like to make pictures and art in general. 5 years ago I began my studies of art at an art school, my main focus at the time was in sculpture and installation and photography was just a tool I used to document my work. As the pandemic hit I did not have access to the atelier so I had to find alternative ways of making art outside the atelier. That’s when I discovered the artform of land art and photography became an even more important part of my artistic practice, as well as nature itself.”
