MY MOM WANTS TO GO BACK HOME | Hanna Hrabarska

This personal work chronicles my escape with my mother from Ukraine during the early days of war. Through my lens, I offer a personal glimpse into the challenges we faced, capturing a unique perspective on the realities of war and displacement. The visual narrative charts our journey from abandoning our homes in Kyiv to finding a new home in Amsterdam.
In 2024 the project was published as a photobook by Jap Sam Books in the Netherlands, designed by Mainstudio. It was shortlisted for the Prix du Livre at Les Rencontres d’Arles 2024.
